Background

While officially established in 1998, the seed for Stephen G. Hill, Architect was planted much earlier. As a child, armed with only pencil, pad and wooden yard stick, Stephen spent hours meticulously measuring his parents’ house, room by room, to create what would be the first of many residential floor plans. It was from this fascination with space, light, form and function that Stephen G. Hill, Architect was born.

After graduating from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1984 with a Master of Architecture, Stephen joined the Memphis architectural firm ANF Architects. During his fourteen year stay there he became a licensed architect and a managing partner of the firm. In 1998 he chose to launch his own practice as a one-man studio.

During his stint with ANF Architects Stephen’s experience centered primarily on commercial architectural design. It wasn’t until he began his solo practice that multi-family design became a part of his repertoire. His early clients were developers whose companies were built upon apartment and condominium development. Over the past decade Stephen has become an expert in the specialized field of multi-family design.

Today Stephen G. Hill, Architect is recognized as a full-service professional design firm that achieves its clients’ goals yet is sensitive to the built environment.
